Sea to Summit's Telos tents are winners of the coveted Backpacker Magazine's Editor's Choice Award, selected for unmatched space, ventilation, and versatility in an ultralight package.

The Telos TR3 is more than you thought an ultralight tent could be. Sea to Summit’s designers dreamed of creating a backcountry capable ultralight tent that didn't skimp on functional features and was easy to set up: they succeeded.

Features

  • Patented Tension Ridge Architecture creates class-leading usable space, height and ventilation.
  • Oversized Apex Vent efficiently expels hot air to prevent condensation build-up.
  • Baseline and Apex Vents work together to create superior airflow and are easily adjusted from inside the tent.
  • Easily convert the fly into a semi-open shelter with Sea to Summit's patent-pending Hangout Mode: perfect for socialising, communal meals or getting out of the sun (requires a pair of adjustable trekking poles or Telos Hangout Mode Pole Set, sold separately).
  • FairShare Storage System allows you to distribute weight evenly between friends or within your pack.
  • Lightbar tent pole storage sack doubles as a light-diffusing lamp that can be secured to the ceiling.
  • Patent-pending and easy-to-use Quick Connect Tent Feet allow one-handed attachment and adjustments.
  • Ultimate versatility with six set-up configurations: Dry Set-Up, Fly Only, Inner Only, Partial Fly, Classic and Hang Out Mode.
  • Two large vestibules provide plenty of space to store gear and protect it from the elements.
  • Tall-wide doors allow for comfortable access and expansive views outside for a more liveable interior.

Technical Features

  • Silicone and Polyether Poly-Urethane (Sil-PeU) coated 15D fly fabric provides excellent hydrolytic stability for durable waterproof performance.
  • 1200mm waterhead 15D fly and 2500mm 20D floor, both with fully-taped and waterproof seams.
  • Ultra-lightweight 15D polyester high-airflow mesh for maximum ventilation and no-see-um insect protection.
  • DAC Featherlite NSL and PRESSFIT pole sections with varying diameters for maximum strength at minimum weight.
  • Strong 7075-T6 aluminium alloy Ground Control Light Tent Pegs provide secure anchoring thanks to the custom TriPoint, multi-notch design.
  • Easily adjustable Ground Control Guy Cords with quick-connect V-Toggles can be attached or removed from multiple guy loops to suit wind conditions.

Sea To Summit

Sea to Summit invent gear that enables freedom and self-reliance in an environment.

They take their adventure and gear seriously, but Aussie humour lightens any journey. Approaching life with directness, candour and integrity, doing what they know is right to build products and relationships that last.

As a young outdoor enthusiast, Roland Tyson (founder of Sea To Summit) had a passion and a talent for creating cutting-edge outdoor equipment for his own adventurers, and soon for other Australian adventurers. By 1991, after outfitting an unusual first ascent of Mt. Everest (a 1126+ kilometre, 8848 metres in elevation trek from sea level to a solo summit), Sea to Summit was born.

Sea to Summit are surfers, hikers, bikers, paddlers, sailors—lovers of outdoor spaces and are inspired by the freedom those spaces provide. Stewardship of the natural environment is as important to them as the creation of new products, and they purposefully make gear that lasts and can be easily repaired.

Sea to Summit invent gear that enables freedom and self-reliance in any environment—and believe it is imperative that same environment be around for future generations of adventurers to enjoy. The meaningful steps they are making towards improving their environmental and social impact, and the commitment to being transparent about their progress is the only way to guarantee they do their part in making that happen.

In 2022, Sea to Summit successfully transitioned from an owner-modelled business to a solid private equity backed business. The certified B-Corporation and Australian investment firm, Five V Capital, signed an agreement with Sea to Summit to become the majority shareholder. This marks an important milestone in Sea to Summit’s history as the brand becomes a global player in the outdoor industry, continuing to grow and expand.
