Repairs & Warranties


  • We generally do not do any gear or product repairs in house
  • If you have an item that is damaged but is not covered under warranty, we suggest contacting Remote Repairs for assistance. They offer a great service for outdoor gear repairs, and can be contacted for a quote via email. Items can be dropped directly to them, or shipped at your convenience. 
  • We are not affiliated with Remote Repairs, but they have been preferred partner for any repairs for many years


Any warranty requests need to be submitted via the below form.
  • The warranty process & time frame can vary depending on the brand and item
  • Generally, warranties cover manufacturing faults & flaws only 
  • All warranty claims must be assessed before we can provide advice on the outcome
  • Suppliers have the final say on whether an assessed issue falls under warranty or is a result of general wear & tear. Specific information on what falls under warranty varies brand to brand & can usually be found on the relevant website
  • If you are unsure if your product issue is covered by warranty or is general wear and tear, please submit the warranty form and we’ll be able to advise you about the next best steps
  • Please note all correspondence regarding warranties has to be done via the warranties form & email communication with
  • Once you have submitted the form, we’ll get back to you within 2-4 working days. The warranty claim timeframe is dependent on manufacturers response time, we cannot guarantee a turnaround time
  • We can only assist with warranty claims for products purchased from Backpacking Light. If you did not purchase the item from us, contact your place of purchase or the supplier directly
