Bag Length

Offering the perfect backpacking balance of comfort vs weight, Sea To Summit Ascent Series sleeping bags have more space than traditional mummy bags, yet still provide the thermal efficiency you need when exploring above the tree-line.

The Free-Flow triple-zip design ensures your sleeping bag retains maximum warmth and efficiency when needed and multiple ventilation options when it's not. The half zip on the right side of the bag provides freedom of movement for both arms, additional ventilation and means the top third of the bag can be folded down as a mini quilt. The full length, two-way left side zip and separate foot zip transforms the bag into a full quilt for when the mercury climbs higher than expected. If it's warmth you're after, close all the zips, pull the cord locks tight to drag everything in, and relax in luxurious comfort.

The generous allocation of high quality 750+ Loft Ultra Dry Down provides great insulation, while the oversized draft tubes prevents your body heat escaping. The paneled footbox and 3-dimensional hood make sure you're not compressing the down when you're trying to stay warm. Vertical baffles over the chest section ensure the down insulation cannot migrate or shift to the outside of the bag during sleep, creating cold spots. A side block baffle construction maintains the 60/40 fill ratio, keeping more down on the top of the bag for maximum insulation.

Sea To Summit

Sea to Summit invent gear that enables freedom and self-reliance in an environment.

They take their adventure and gear seriously, but Aussie humour lightens any journey. Approaching life with directness, candour and integrity, doing what they know is right to build products and relationships that last.

As a young outdoor enthusiast, Roland Tyson (founder of Sea To Summit) had a passion and a talent for creating cutting-edge outdoor equipment for his own adventurers, and soon for other Australian adventurers. By 1991, after outfitting an unusual first ascent of Mt. Everest (a 1126+ kilometre, 8848 metres in elevation trek from sea level to a solo summit), Sea to Summit was born.

Sea to Summit are surfers, hikers, bikers, paddlers, sailors—lovers of outdoor spaces and are inspired by the freedom those spaces provide. Stewardship of the natural environment is as important to them as the creation of new products, and they purposefully make gear that lasts and can be easily repaired.

Sea to Summit invent gear that enables freedom and self-reliance in any environment—and believe it is imperative that same environment be around for future generations of adventurers to enjoy. The meaningful steps they are making towards improving their environmental and social impact, and the commitment to being transparent about their progress is the only way to guarantee they do their part in making that happen.

In 2022, Sea to Summit successfully transitioned from an owner-modelled business to a solid private equity backed business. The certified B-Corporation and Australian investment firm, Five V Capital, signed an agreement with Sea to Summit to become the majority shareholder. This marks an important milestone in Sea to Summit’s history as the brand becomes a global player in the outdoor industry, continuing to grow and expand.
