Add a fully enclosed layer of insect protection to a tarp-based sleep system. The Escapist Mesh Bug Shelter wraps ultralight 15D no-see-um mesh and a zippered door around a waterproof Ultra-Sil LS tub floor that extends up the sides, keeping mosquitoes, ants and spiders out without trapping heat inside. It hangs easily under the Escapist or Minimalist tarp, or pitches independently with trekking poles, guylines, stakes or natural anchors when a tarp isn't in play. The floor plan fits two regular tapered sleeping mats with enough headspace to sit up inside, and adjustable line tensioners, reachable from under the tarp, dial in a tight pitch without needing to duck outside.

Features

  • Ultralight 15D no-see-um mesh with a zippered entry blocks mosquitoes, ants and spiders.

Sea To Summit

Sea to Summit invent gear that enables freedom and self-reliance in an environment.

They take their adventure and gear seriously, but Aussie humour lightens any journey. Approaching life with directness, candour and integrity, doing what they know is right to build products and relationships that last.

As a young outdoor enthusiast, Roland Tyson (founder of Sea To Summit) had a passion and a talent for creating cutting-edge outdoor equipment for his own adventurers, and soon for other Australian adventurers. By 1991, after outfitting an unusual first ascent of Mt. Everest (a 1126+ kilometre, 8848 metres in elevation trek from sea level to a solo summit), Sea to Summit was born.

Sea to Summit are surfers, hikers, bikers, paddlers, sailors—lovers of outdoor spaces and are inspired by the freedom those spaces provide. Stewardship of the natural environment is as important to them as the creation of new products, and they purposefully make gear that lasts and can be easily repaired.

Sea to Summit invent gear that enables freedom and self-reliance in any environment—and believe it is imperative that same environment be around for future generations of adventurers to enjoy. The meaningful steps they are making towards improving their environmental and social impact, and the commitment to being transparent about their progress is the only way to guarantee they do their part in making that happen.

In 2022, Sea to Summit successfully transitioned from an owner-modelled business to a solid private equity backed business. The certified B-Corporation and Australian investment firm, Five V Capital, signed an agreement with Sea to Summit to become the majority shareholder. This marks an important milestone in Sea to Summit’s history as the brand becomes a global player in the outdoor industry, continuing to grow and expand.
