Patagonia's Caped Merganzer Hat is a versatile, quick-drying sun hat built for full days out in the sun, with an adjustable cape that lets you dial in sun protection and airflow as conditions change. A 100% recycled polyester stretch ripstop fabric is treated with a DWR finish, made without intentionally added PFAS, and delivers 40+ UPF sun protection. The wider-than-average brim floats and adds extra coverage, and doubles as a chin strap in windy conditions to help keep the hat in place. A low-profile elastic cord and cord lock at the back give a comfortable, adjustable fit, and a quick-wicking internal sweatband manages moisture and temperature at the brow. Made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.

Features

  • Breathable 100% recycled polyester stretch ripstop with a DWR finish (made without intentionally added PFAS) and 40+ UPF sun protection.

  • Brim rope doubles as a chin strap to help keep the hat in place in windy conditions.

Patagonia, Inc. is an American manufacturer of outdoor recreation clothing. It was founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973 and is based in Ventura, California. Patagonia operates stores in more than 10 countries globally, as well as factories in 16 countries.

Patagonia’s core values include building the best product, causing no unnecessary harm, using business to protect nature, and not being bound by convention. The company also upholds animal welfare standards and promotes supplier transparency.

Patagonia focuses on selling durable products that last for generations and can be recycled. The Worn Wear program encourages consumers to repair and recycle items rather than discarding them. Repair guides are provided, and repair services are offered free of charge at Repair Hubs and Patagonia stores.
