That means fewer stops to shed or add layers on a long day out, whether you're moving hard uphill or holding a steady hiking pace. The insulation keeps working even when damp, and dries quickly once conditions ease. A relaxed, pullover cut with a single front pocket keeps things simple, so it slots in just as easily as camp wear or everyday layering as it does under a shell on the trail.
