The Barrington is Neve Gear's warmth-to-weight flagship, an ultralight down hoody built for thru-hikers and backcountry adventurers who count every gram. At just 200g in a men's medium, it carries 90g of 950+ fill power Ultrasonic Muscovy down under a 7D ripstop nylon shell. Rather than packing in countless small baffles, Neve Gear uses fewer, larger baffles that let the down loft to its full height, so you get more warmth for the same or less weight. The balaclava-style hood cinches down to just your nostrils for serious head insulation on cold nights, or sits relaxed and open around camp, and doubles as a warmth layer for quilt users.

950+ fill power Ultrasonic Muscovy down delivers loft once reserved for the finest European goose downs, with larger, denser clusters for exceptional warmth-to-weight.
Reduced baffle frequency with fewer, larger baffles lets the down fully loft to its maximum height for more warmth at less weight.
Ultralight 7D ripstop nylon shell (19g/sqm) keeps overall weight down without giving up durability.
Balaclava-style adjustable hood cinches almost completely shut for maximum head insulation, ideal for quilt users.
Glove-friendly flat cord locks make hood adjustment easy in cold conditions.

Unique Design

Neve Gear founder, Ryan, and his designers are always looking for ways to develop new, innovative gear.

Neve Gear are constantly looking for ways to improve existing designs and come up with brand new ones, while still making them affordable.

Ryan developed the offset pad strap attachment system, which eliminates the most common problem of a hiking quilt, being draughts from cold air seeping in, while still having all of the positives of a quilt, being lighter weight, less constrictive and cheaper.
