Helinox Umbrella One
A trekking umbrella only earns pack space if it's genuinely light and genuinely tough, and the Umbrella One is both. Built around the same DAC aluminium alloy Helinox uses in its chairs and tent poles, the shaft and fibreglass ribs shrug off wind that would invert a cheaper umbrella, while a Teflon-coated UPF 25 canopy blocks sun and sheds rain in the same breath. Button-free operation means the canopy slides open with a push, no fiddly catch to snag or break mid-trail. At 210g and packing down to 64 x 5 x 5cm, it disappears into a side pocket until the weather turns.
